The U.S. Department of Justice intends to file a lawsuit claiming that Visa illegally monopolized the U.S. market for debit cards, Bloomberg’s Leah Nylen and Kartikay Mehrotra report, citing people familiar with the matter. The DOJ’s antitrust arm is slated to file a lawsuit as soon as Tuesday accusing the company of a range of anticompetitive actions, the authors say, noting that the government is anticipated to file the case in federal court.
