The U.S. Justice Department and the Federal Trade Commission are in deep talks over which agency can investigate OpenAI, in particular the company’s involvement with Microsoft, on antitrust grounds, Politico’s Josh Sisco reports. The FTC started discussions with the DOJ months ago to determine which agency can look into the matter, but neither agency is prepared to relinquish jurisdiction, the author says, citing three people with knowledge of the matter.
