The Department of Justice is examining deals Visa (V) has with PayPal (PYPL) as antitrust investigators deepen their probe into Visa’s practices, Jenny Surane of Bloomberg reported, according to people with knowledge of the matter. The department’s antitrust division has been inquiring about a deal with PayPal that Visa secured to stop the firm from incentivizing consumers to pay with their checking accounts instead of debit and credit cards when using PayPal’s digital wallet.
