In the first-of-its kind decision, the Colorado state court sided with a group of voters who argued that Donald Trump cannot appear on the 2024 presidential primary because of his role in the January 6, 2021 riot at U.S. Capitol, The Wall Street Journal’s Mariah Timms reports. The voters argued that Trump must be disqualified under a clause in the 14th Amendment which disqualifies from public office those who swore to defend the Constitution and then “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” against the U.S., the report states.
