Citi analyst Fatima Boolani says that if reports are accurate and Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL) acquires privately-held cloud security pioneer Wiz, the competitive ramifications look most favorable for Crowdstrike (CRWD) and Palo Alto Networks (PANW). The companies can capitalize on “noise” from a lack of vendor neutrality, the analyst tells investors in a research note. The potential acquisition of Wiz would be mixed for Zscaler (ZS) and Check Point (CHKP), and least favorable for SMID-cap players like Fortinet (FTNT), Sentine (S) and Rapid7 (RPD), adds Citi.
