Cineworld Group is slated to name the investment banking units of JPMorgan (JPM) and Barclays (BCS) to advise on a possible IPO and consider merger opportunities in the U.S., with the company’s advisers potentially exploring combining with AMC Entertainment (AMC) or Cinemark (CNK), Bloomberg’s Thomas Buckley reports. The cinema operator is weighing an IPO of its business outside the U.K., which includes the Regal chain of theaters in the U.S. and Cinema City in eastern Europe, the author notes. The company is eyeing a listing between the second half of 2025 and the first half of next year, the author says.
