Chinese firms place $16B in orders for new Nvidia chips, The Information reports

Alibaba (BABA), Tencent (TCEHY), and TikTok owner ByteDance are among the Chinese companies to have placed at least $16B in orders for Nvidia’s (NVDA) H20 server chips, The Information’s Qianer Liu reports, citing two people with knowledge of the transactions. DigiTimes previously reported that Chinese distributors of Nvidia’s H20 GPU are facing severe supply constraints as demand surges for AI computing power in the market.
