China’s government have recently told technology firms including Alibaba (BABA), Baidu (BIDU), Tencent (TCEHY) and TikTok parent ByteDance to cut back on their purchase of foreign made AI chips from Nvidia (NVDA) and other companies in favor of purchasing more chips made domestically, The Information’s Qianer Lu reports. Other publicly traded semiconductor companies include AMD (AMD), Marvell (MRVL), Microchip (MCHP), Micron (MU), and Texas Instruments (TXN).
