Chevron (CVX) CEO Mirk Wirth warned about the company’s possible departure from Venezuela as a Biden-era license to operate in the country is set to expire, Bailee Hill of The New York Post reports. The company has been under pressure from the Trump administration to halt drilling in the nation. Back in February, Trump initially announced he was choosing to end the license, calling Biden’s agreement “ineffective and unmet,” but he reportedly reversed his decision and instead extended the license until May 27. Wirth has argued against the move over concerns about energy security and China’s growing influence in the Western Hemisphere.
