Carlyle is mulling a EUR3B sale of Dutch salt and chemicals producer Nobian, the Financial Times’ Ivan Levingston and Tom Wilson report, citing people familiar with the matter. Nobian, which is owned by Carlyle and Singapore’s GIC, makes high-purity salt, chlorine and other specialty chemicals for use in products such as solar panels, battery storage systems, and insulation, the authors note. Carlyle has held talks with investment banks as it readies for a potential sale process, which is anticipated to begin in 2025, the authors say.
