The California Public Utilities Commission rejected a proposal aimed at making so-called “community solar” programs affordable for subscribers and attractive to developers in favor of another backed by the state’s electric utilities that is designed to avoid shifting costs onto Californians who don’t participate in community solar projects, reported Bloomberg’s Michelle Ma. Publicly traded companies in the solar energy space include Sunrun (RUN), Enphase Energy (ENPH), Array Technologies (ARRY), Canadian Solar (CSIQ), Emeren (SOL), FTC Solar (FTCI), First Solar (FSLR), JinkoSolar (JKS), Maxeon Solar (MAXN), Shoals Technologies (SHLS), SolarEdge (SEDG) and SunPower (SPWR).
