Tim Burton’s sequel “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” stayed atop the North American box office with another $26M, pushing “Transformers One” debut to second place. In its third weekend, the Warner Bros.’ (WBD) movie received a B+ CinemaScore and sports a Rotten Tomatoes critics score of 76%.
BOX OFFICE RUNNER-UPS: Paramount (PARA) and Hasbro Entertainment’s “Transformers One” placed number 2 with a $25M debut. Behind it was Comcast (CMCSA) subsidiary Universal’s “Speak No Evil” with $5.9M from 3,375 locations. Lionsgate’s (LGF.B) “Never Let Go” placed number 4, grossing an estimated $4.5M in its first outing. Rounding out the top five, Disney (DIS) and Marvel’s “Deadpool & Wolverine” earned another $3.9M.
