Boaz Weinstein again boosted bid for Sculptor, Bloomberg reports

Boaz Weinstein again boosted his bid for Sculptor Capital Management (SCU), prompting Rithm Capital (RITM) to weigh a sweetened offer of its own, Hema Parmar, Katherine Burton and Sonali Basak of Bloomberg report, citing people familiar with the matter. More than a week ago, a consortium of investors led by Weinstein approached Sculptor offering a figure higher than an earlier bid of $12.76 per share, sources tell Bloomberg. The coalition also revised other terms, scrapping a clause that would allow it to walk away even if all investors in Sculptor’s biggest hedge fund reject the deal, though other clauses still remain, the people said. Rithm subsequently held talks with Sculptor about increasing its offer of $11.15 per share, according to Bloomberg.
