As previously reported, Barclays analyst Cecilia Romero Reyes upgraded Banco Santander to Overweight from Equal Weight. Based on negative rate sensitivity, volume growth and cost-cutting efforts, the firm sees Santander having the most positive EPS progression into 2025 across the firm’s Spanish bank coverage, which it notes is also better than the average for European banks.
