Baker Hughes reports that the U.S. rig count is down 4 from last week to 749 with oil rigs down 8 to 592, gas rigs up 3 to 154 and miscellaneous rigs up 1 to 3. The U.S. Rig Count is up 99 rigs from last year’s count of 650 with oil rigs up 73, gas rigs up 24 and miscellaneous up 1. The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is down 1 to 16, up 4 year-over-year. The Canada Rig Count is up 2 from last week to 246, with oil rigs unchanged at 158, gas rigs up 2 to 88. The Canada Rig Count is up 29 rigs from last year’s count of 217 with oil rigs up 24, gas rigs up 6 and miscellaneous down 1.
