Baker Hughes reports that the U.S. rig count is down 2 from last week to 588 with oil rigs down 3 to 485, gas rigs unchanged at 98 and miscellaneous rigs up 1 to 5. The U.S. Rig Count is down 94 rigs from last year’s count of 682 with oil rigs down 61, gas rigs down 32 and miscellaneous down 1. The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is unchanged at 21, up 2 year-over-year. The Canada Rig Count is up 6 from last week to 166, with oil rigs up 5 to 109, gas rigs up 2 to 57 and miscellaneous rigs down 1. The Canada Rig Count is down 3 from last year’s count of 169, with oil rigs down 1, gas rigs down 2 and miscellaneous rigs up 1.
