Autodesk still used a controversial sales strategy even after telling investors it would stop and ignored internal warnings about the risks associated with such a strategy, Bloomberg’s Brody Ford reports, citing previously unreported internal documents. The strategy involved offering discounts to some corporate customers willing to pay up front for big multi-year deals, the author notes. In an attempt to provide more predictable cash flow, the company promised in 2021 to cease the practice, the author says.
