Sportsology Capital Partners and Ares Management are in advanced discussions to buy the 10% stake in Major League Baseball’s Texas Rangers owned by Janice Simpson, people with knowledge of the matter told Bloomberg’s Gillian Tan. The transaction would value the team at more than $2B, though terms aren’t final and an agreement is unlikely to be finalized until next year at the earliest, one source stated, according to the report.
