Apple’s (AAPL) new Siri engineering chief Mike Rockwell is is overhauling the management team leading Siri’s development, replacing much of the leadership with lieutenants from his Vision Pro software group, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports. Rockwell is restructuring teams related to speech, understanding, performance, and user experience, and has enlisted several top software engineering managers to join the Siri team, aiming to improve Siri’s performance and user experience, Gurman writes. The changes come after project delays and engineering snags, and are part of Apple’s efforts to fix Siri, which has fallen behind rivals like Google (GOOGL) and Microsoft (MSFT)-backed OpenAI in AI.
