DJ Novotney, a vice president, VP, of hardware engineering at Apple (AAPL), who led work on home devices and helped start efforts to develop an electric vehicle, is leaving the company for Rivian Automotive (RIVN), Mark Gurman and Edward Ludlow of Bloomberg reports. Novotney informed colleagues of his departure on Friday and will become senior vice president of vehicle programs at Rivian, Bloomberg adds, citing people with knowledge of the matter.
