Apple (AAPL) is considering adding new countries to its News app, which currently reached 125M people a month in the U.S., Canada, U.K., and Australia, Daniel Thomas of The Financial Times reports, citing people familiar with the plans. Additionally, the company is considering building its local news coverage in the U.K. while adding a puzzle section in the country, which is currently only available in the U.S. and Canada, the sources added. Apple hopes by scaling its News app it will cement its role as a growing source of revenue for publishers.
