Apple’s (AAPL) lead AI researcher for robotics, Jian Zhang, has left the company to join Meta‘s (META) competing effort, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports. Three more AI researchers, John Peebles, Nan Du and Zhao Meng, are leaving Apple’s in-house large language models team to join other companies, including OpenAI and Anthropic PBC, according to people with knowledge of the matter. The Apple Foundation Models team has lost roughly 10 members, including its chief, in recent weeks, Gurman writes.
