Private equity firm Apollo Global (APO) is in talks to acquire Barnes Group (B) and prevail over other buyout firms that were also vying for the company, people familiar with the matter told Reuters’ Anirban Sen and Echo Wang. The maker of aerospace components with a market value of about $2B is negotiating granting exclusivity to Apollo, according to the report. Barnes shares are up $2.51, or 6%, to $42.57 in pre-market trading following Reuters’ report.
