Apollo Global and BC Partners-backed consortium is close to buying a controlling stake in GFL Environmental (GFL) Inc.’s environmental services unit for $5.6B, Bloomberg’s Dinesh Nair and Paula Sambo report, citing people familiar with the matter said. The discussions are in advanced stages, with a potential agreement being announced within days, the report states, also indicating that GFL could be granted an option to buy back the shares from the private equity firms at a later date.
