American Financial Group initiated with a Hold at Jefferies

Jefferies initiated coverage of American Financial Group with a Hold rating and $120 price target. The analyst expects the company to show weaker reported underwriting margins for total property and casualty in the second half of 2023 and 2024 as its greater weighting to the standard market, workers’ comp business and casualty lines makes near term margin expansion more difficult to achieve.
