Amazon to make changes to business practices in EU settlement, NYT reports

Amazon has agreed to implement some significant changes to its business practices in a settlement with European Union regulators, expected to be announced December 20, the New York Times’ Adam Satariano and Karen Weise report, citing three people with knowledge of the deal. The settlement, which closes two antitrust probes in Europe, will require the e-commerce giant to give competing product manufacturers equal access to valuable real estate on the site and will also ban Amazon from utilizing nonpublic information collected from independent merchants to inform its own offerings.
