Amazon is set to face a civil trial this week related to its tactics used to entice customers to sign up for its Prime service and to steer them from canceling, Erin Mulvaney and Sean McLain of The Wall Street Journal reports. The Federal Trade Commission, FTC, alleges Amazon has duper nearly 40M customers by using deceptive digital subscription practices. The FTC is seeking civil penalties, refunds to customers, and a court order prohibiting the company from using practices that could confuse or deceive customers.
