After Punchbowl News reported earlier on Tuesday, citing a source familiar with the company’s plans, that Amazon would “soon” begin displaying the cost of tariffs alongside the price of each product on items sold via its site for ultra-discount products, Haul, the company stated that the plan “was never approved” and is “not going to happen,” according to CNBC. The Punchbowl report drew the ire of the White House, with press secretary Karoline Leavitt calling Amazon’s reported plans a “hostile and political act.”
