Amazon (AMZN) is restarting Amazon Shipping, its competitor to UPS (UPS) and FedEx (FDX) that handles packages from other websites, after pausing the U.S. service earlier in the pandemic, The Wall Street Journal’s Sebastian Herrera reported on Friday. Amazon previously was heavily reliant on UPS and FedEx for delivery services, but has since built out its own shipping network that includes hundreds of warehouses and more vans, planes and long-haul trucks. “We’re always working to develop new, innovative ways to support Amazon’s selling partners, and Amazon Shipping is another option for shipping packages to customers quickly and cost-effectively,” Amazon spokeswoman Olivia Connors said. “We’re now making it available to more selling partners.”
