Amazon held mandatory anti-union meetings at NYC warehouse, Reuters reports

During a mandatory meeting to discourage unionizing at a New York City, NYC, warehouse, Amazon made unlawful promises and threats, Daniel Wiessner of Reuters reports, citing the U.S. labor board, which also banned employers from holding such meetings moving forward. The National Labor Relations Board said “captive audience meetings,” which have been legal for decades, illegally interfere with workers’ rights to freely choose whether or not to unionize. Employers can lawfully hold meetings if they are voluntary, workers are given notice on the subjects to be discussed, and no attendance records are kept, said the Board.
