Amazon (AMZN) and Google (GOOGL), who both make smart speakers, will be required to offer all licensed U.K. radio stations access to their platforms as part of a major government revamp of broadcasting rules, the Financial Times’ Arjun Neil Alim reports. The mandate will be included in long-awaited media legislation, which will be introduced in parliament this week and will regulate online streaming platforms for the first time, the author notes.
