After Bill Simmons noted rumors that Amazon’s (AMZN) billionaire founder Jeff Bezos was considering making an offer for the NBA’s Boston Celtics, a person close to Bezos told The Information’s Nick Wingfield that there is “zero truth” to the idea that Bezos is interested in bidding on the team. Publicly traded owners of sports franchises include the Liberty Braves Group (BATRA), MSG Sports (MSGS) and Manchester United (MANU).
