Days after the company showcased new upcoming devices and services, Amazon VP of device software and services Rob Williams is leaving the ecommerce giant, Reuters’ Greg Bensinger reports. Williams, also a member of the elite internal group known as the S-team advising CEO Andy Jassy, relinquished his position and will depart entirely from Amazon at the end of 2025, the author says, citing a memo sent internally on Thursday. “Rob has had a big impact on the software and experiences of nearly all of the products we’ve created and shipped,” said Panos Panay, the senior vice president of devices and services, in the memo, adding that Williams has opted to “retire from Amazon.”
