Google VP of security engineering Heather Adkins said that Alphabet (GOOGL) (GOOG) has been working for about two years to technologically decouple its life sciences business Verily so that it can be sold or spun off, Bloomberg’s Leah Nylen and Carmen Arroyo report. Adkins discussed the plans for Verily while appearing as a defense witness in the DOJ’s case alleging the search giant illegally monopolized advertising technology, the authors note.
