Alphabet (GOOGL) has cut all contractual ties with Appen, the artificial intelligence data firm that helped train Google’s chatbot Bard, Google Search results and other AI products, following a strategic review process, CNBC’s Hayden Field reports. Alphabet contracts account for roughly one-third of Appen’s business revenue, according to the report, which adds that Appen has helped train AI models for Microsoft (MSFT), Nvidia (NVDA), Meta (META), Apple (AAPL), Adobe (ADBE) and Amazon (AMZN).
