Airbus shed light on the impact of mounting trade tensions after Europe followed the U.S. in raising tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles, Reuters’ Tim Hepher reports. When asked about the European Commission’s decision to levy additional duties of up to 38.1%, an Airbus spokesperson said in an emailed statement, according to Reuters, that trade tensions were challenging for businesses worldwide. “We see increasing tensions on trade around the world and these are testing the resilience of global companies such as Airbus,” the spokesperson said. “We sell to customers globally. Trade tariffs increase complexity and costs for our supply-chain, Airbus and for our customers,” the statement added.
