Airbus (EADSY) is aiming to persuade customers to return some plane delivery slots that it could then provide to United Airlines (UAL), in an attempt to opportunistically snatch a major order away from Boeing (BA), Bloomberg’ Siddharth Vikram Philip, Danny Lee, and Julie Johnsson report. The European company has inquired with jet leasing firms and air carriers, proposing to repurchase slots for its popular A321neo single-aisle aircraft where it can over the coming years, the authors say, citing people familiar with the discussions.
