Airbus (EADSY) CFO Thomas Toepfer told CNBC’s Charlotte Reed that the company is “not happy” about the issues facing Boeing (BA), saying the situation has made Airbus “obsessed by the thought” of ensuring the same thing does not happen on one of its own aircraft. “I think it’s not helpful for the industry, and if it’s not helpful for the industry, it’s not helpful for Airbus,” Toepfer said. Boeing is under huge scrutiny and facing a reputational crisis after a door plug blew out of one of its 737 Max aircraft mid-flight.
