Despite its near four-decade pedigree and a market value of $85B, Synopsys (SNPS) doesn’t garner much coverage from Wall Street or the media, especially compared with its major customers like Nvidia (NVDA), AMD (AMD), and Intel (INTC), Tae Kim writes in this week’s edition of Barron’s. It’s a name worth knowing, though. Synopsys is the largest provider of electronic design automation, or EDA, software, which is used to design semiconductors. The company could be the most underappreciated beneficiary of the artificial-intelligence boom, the author adds.
