Loop Capital analyst Anthony Chukumba raised the firm’s price target on Academy Sports (ASO) to $73 from $65 and keeps a Buy rating on the shares after its Q4 earnings beat. The company was able to offset worse-than-expected top-line performance through improved profitability, Loop Capital tells investors in a research note. The firm was also encouraged to hear that Academy plans to accelerate its new store openings in FY23 as its overall store footprint is a fraction of its competitor DICK’S Sporting Good’s (DKS), the analyst added.
