Telsey Advisory analyst Cristina Fernandez lowered the firm’s price target on Academy Sports to $70 from $72 and keeps an Outperform rating on the shares. The firm “got the sense” that Academy’s Q3 miss was due to a period of weak demand contained to September, partially due to warm early Fall weather, rather than a more sustained step down in the sales trend, the analyst tells investors in a post-earnings note.
