Take-Two Drops GTA 6 Trailer 2 Just Days After Delaying the Game

Take-Two (TTWO) released the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI today, following last week’s announcement that the game’s launch has been delayed to May 26, 2026. This new trailer highlights the relationship between Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, the dual protagonists of GTA 6.

Protect Your Portfolio Against Market Uncertainty

While gamers appear excited about the new details included in the trailer, such as a closer look at GTA 6′s rendition of Vice City, they’re not thrilled about the May 2026 release date. Consumer patience was already wearing thin as the game’s first trailer was revealed in December 2023.

Rockstar Games, the developer of GTA 6, remained largely silent after it released the first trailer, only telling fans to expect a Fall 2025 release. With the date now pushed further out, this second trailer may be just what Take-Two needs to maintain excitement for the game.

What This Means for TTWO Stock

Take-Two stock suffered a 6.66% drop when it delayed Grand Theft Auto VI last week. Shares have yet to fully recover, and investors don’t appear impressed by its newest trailer, as TTWO was only up 1.01% as of this writing. Even so, the stock is still up 23.44% year-to-date.

The release of GTA 6 will be a huge catalyst for Take-Two stock. Its release will come more than 10 years after the launch of Grand Theft Auto V. GTA 5 was a massive success for the publisher, selling over 210 million copies, and it served as the foundation for Grand Theft Auto Online. This captured additional revenue for Take-Two with in-game microtransactions.

Is TTWO Stock a Buy, Sell, or Hold?

Turning to Wall Street, the analysts’ consensus rating for Take-Two is Strong Buy, based on 16 Buy and one Hold ratings over the last three months. With that comes an average price target of $232.24, representing a potential 2.12% upside for TTWO stock.
