SpaceX stock had a strong debut, closing its first trading day at $161.11, up about 19% from its $135 IPO price. The rally grew stronger in the first few weeks, with SPCX reaching a post-IPO high of $225.64.
The stock then gave back much of those gains. Shares fell 13.6% on August 5 after SpaceX released its first quarterly earnings report. The stock has since rebounded as investors focus on strong growth across its core businesses. Shares also held up after 911.5 million shares became eligible for trading on August 6. The first lockup release added more shares to the market but did not stop the stock’s rebound.

Citi Reaffirms $200 Price Target for SPCX
Godyn kept his $200 price target, in part because it still depends on key Starship milestones. He sees progress on Starship as a major catalyst that could support a much higher valuation over time.
Beyond Starship, Godyn also sees SpaceX as a strong player in AI computing. He is using the low end of its new 5–10 GW capacity target for 2027 but still expects the company to beat its peers. The company has also moved up its $1 trillion revenue goal to around 2030. Godyn said this adds to his confidence in the company’s long-term growth plan.
Taken together, these growth drivers support Godyn’s longer-term bull case. Godyn previously said SpaceX is entering a “catalyst-rich” period over the next two to three years. He also sees a path to $900 or more in the long run if Starship can launch at scale.
