S&P 500 Fails to Notch 10th Consecutive Day of Gains

Before today, the S&P 500 (SPX) had finished in the green for nine consecutive days, its longest winning streak in over 20 years. The solid gains were led by a better-than-expected jobs report and optimism surrounding trade deal progress between the U.S. and China.

S&P 500 Breaks Winning Streak

Unfortunately, the benchmark index wasn’t able to secure its tenth consecutive day of gains, a record that hasn’t been achieved since 1990. The S&P 500 ended the day down by 0.63%, officially ending its winning streak. The index has shed over 3% year-to-date (YTD).
