Christopher Rolland has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors that highlight Lumentum Holdings’ strong performance and promising future prospects. The company has reported significantly better-than-expected results, particularly in the December quarter, with a notable beat driven by their transceivers and laser segments. This performance is supported by the growing demand in the AI optical sector, where Lumentum is well-positioned to benefit from advancements in 1.6T, 200G EMLs, CPO, and OCS technologies.
Moreover, Lumentum’s management has provided optimistic guidance, projecting substantial revenue growth and improved gross margins through 2026. The company’s strategic reorganization into Components and Systems segments has also shown positive results, with record EML shipments and diversification into CW lasers. The anticipated increase in laser chip shipments and strong customer engagements, including with major players like Google, further reinforce the positive outlook. Consequently, Rolland has raised the price target for Lumentum from $190 to $230, reflecting confidence in the company’s ability to capitalize on its expanding AI interconnect opportunities.

In another report released today, Rosenblatt Securities also reiterated a Buy rating on the stock with a $280.00 price target.

Based on the recent corporate insider activity of 89 insiders, corporate insider sentiment is negative on the stock. This means that over the past quarter there has been an increase of insiders selling their shares of LITE in relation to earlier this year.
