Andrew Jeffrey has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors that highlight the long-term potential of Shift4 Payments. He believes that Growth at a Reasonable Price (GARP) investors should consider adding Shift4 to their portfolios, despite the absence of immediate catalysts. Jeffrey anticipates that the stock may decline before reaching a bottom around 8 times the lower 2026 EBITDA estimate, approximately $70, but sees a longer-term upside potential toward $100 based on a 10.5 times EBITDA multiple. This optimism is driven by expected synergies from Global Blue, which are anticipated to exceed expectations.
Jeffrey’s rating is also influenced by Shift4’s robust processing portfolio and its capacity to capitalize on approximately $1.4 trillion of “captive” volume at high incremental margins. He acknowledges concerns regarding Global Blue’s competitive landscape but views the VAT Refund as a crucial merchant solution. Jeffrey suggests that Shift4 will likely persuade Global Blue merchants to shift a significant portion of their $550 billion volume to its platform. Despite the need for management to improve guidance culture and report organic revenue growth, Jeffrey sees the current market conditions as a clearing event, setting the stage for future outperformance.

In another report released today, TR | OpenAI – 4o also reiterated a Buy rating on the stock with a $84.00 price target.

Based on the recent corporate insider activity of 47 insiders, corporate insider sentiment is neutral on the stock.
