Jonathan Matuszewski has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors, including Home Depot’s strong performance in the fourth quarter. The company reported a notable increase in comparable transactions, reaching levels not seen in nearly three years, which contributed to a positive earnings per share (EPS) surprise, beating the Street’s expectations. Despite a slight miss on gross margins, the overall financial results were robust, with total transactions showing significant improvement.
Additionally, Home Depot’s guidance for 2025, although slightly below market expectations, remains optimistic. The company has managed its inventory effectively, maintaining a healthy sell-through rate, and has plans for capital expenditures and store openings that indicate future growth potential. These factors, combined with a manageable interest expense and a slight beat in selling, general, and administrative expenses, underpin Matuszewski’s confidence in the stock’s potential for appreciation.

According to TipRanks, Matuszewski is a 4-star analyst with an average return of 5.7% and a 51.15% success rate. Matuszewski covers the Consumer Cyclical sector, focusing on stocks such as Best Buy Co, Lowe’s, and Academy Sports and Outdoors.

In another report released on February 20, Telsey Advisory also reiterated a Buy rating on the stock with a $455.00 price target.
