xAI has introduced significant updates to its Grok chatbot, positioning it as a more versatile tool for users. The newly launched Grok Vision feature allows iOS users to interact with their environment through their smartphone camera. By pointing their device at various objects, users can ask Grok questions about what they see, enhancing the chatbot’s utility in real-world scenarios. This feature, however, is currently unavailable on the Android version of the app.
In addition to Grok Vision, xAI has rolled out multilingual audio support and real-time search capabilities in Grok’s voice mode. These features are accessible to Android users who subscribe to the $30-per-month SuperGrok plan. The updates are part of xAI’s ongoing efforts to expand Grok’s functionality, following the recent addition of a ‘memory’ component that allows the bot to reference past conversations, and a canvas-like tool for creating documents and applications. These developments underscore xAI’s commitment to enhancing user experience and maintaining competitive parity with other tech giants in the AI space.
