Truveta, in collaboration with leading US health systems, has announced the Truveta Genome Project, a pioneering initiative aimed at creating the largest and most diverse genetic database ever assembled. This project will involve generating genetic data from tens of millions of consented and de-identified volunteers, significantly surpassing the scale of previous efforts. The collaboration includes major health systems such as Advocate Health, CommonSpirit Health, and Northwell Health, among others, and partners with the Regeneron Genetics Center for sequencing. Microsoft Azure will serve as the exclusive cloud provider for the project.
The Truveta Genome Project is set to revolutionize healthcare by providing comprehensive representation across various ancestries, ethnicities, and social health drivers, unlocking new insights into the genetic factors affecting health. This initiative is supported by a $320 million investment in Truveta, with significant contributions from Regeneron and Illumina. The project’s data will be integrated into Truveta Data, facilitating advancements in drug discovery, clinical trials, and personalized medicine.
