Tacta Systems has introduced its first product, the TactaBot, positioning the company at the center of a new wave of dexterous industrial automation. The platform integrates the Tacta Hand, a Skill Capture system built around the Tacta Glove, and a proprietary Dexterous Intelligence AI engine to deliver human-level touch and manipulation for high-value factory tasks that have resisted automation.

The Tacta Hand uses Fluidic Tendon actuation across 15 independently controlled joints, combining human-scale precision with industrial-grade strength and reliability over millions of cycles. Paired with a granular tactile sensor that can read everything from feather-light pressure to clamp-level force and fine temperature changes, the hand is designed to handle complex operations such as precision electronics assembly and wire harness construction.

Tacta’s Skill Capture system addresses the data bottleneck in robotics by collecting real-world force, motion, video, and temperature data from workers wearing the Tacta Glove on production lines. This creates a growing dataset of human dexterous skills that is used to pretrain and then fine-tune the company’s Dexterous Intelligence AI models for specific customer workflows, shortening deployment time and improving automation success rates.

The company plans initial commercial shipments of TactaBot in early 2027 to large manufacturers in electronics, AI infrastructure, and automotive, with later expansion into medical devices, aerospace, and defense. Management frames the technology as a way to enable reshoring of advanced manufacturing to the United States amid shrinking availability of skilled manual labor.

Tacta Systems, headquartered in Palo Alto and led by co-founders Andreas Bibl and CEO Vikram Pavate, is backed by $75 million in funding from a global investor base including Matter Venture Partners, SoftBank, and corporate strategics such as Yazaki Innovations and Sojitz Corporation. Investors highlight the company’s end-to-end stack—hardware, sensing, and AI—as a differentiator in a robotics market they expect to reach trillion-dollar scale, with Tacta seeking to capture value in dexterous manipulation at the core of next-generation industrial automation.
